Taghum Hall’s “Brushes and Lunch” watercolour painting workshop series is happy to present Laura Leeder as workshop leader for June 2018. Laura’s work is visually stunning. Visit her website here!
A cost-included, delicious lunch will be served immediately following the guided workshop. Beginner painters are welcome (and encouraged!). All levels.
Laura’s paintings are in private collections throughout Canada, the United Kingdom, France, Italy, Japan, and the United States. Several floral paintings were purchased by the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta and placed in private family care rooms as a visual oasis for those attending loved ones.
Using watercolour and ink, I create a rich bouquet of colour and light in my detailed floral and still life paintings. Every painting stars a flower lovingly tended and gathered in my own garden. Combining these flowers with fruit, vintage teacups, porcelain, crystal, lace and local hand-crafted pottery creates paintings that are both timeless and serene.
From their delicious fragrance and breathtaking beauty to their variety of colours and the delicacy and shape of each petal, these flowers exude joyous life-giving energy. It is this essence that I strive to capture in my work and share with you, the viewer.
