Watch this spectacular presentation of images from the Hubble Spacetelescope. Wayne Holmes will walk you through many amazing facts. After the show, Starry Nights will occur outside in it’s usual fashion that is a Taghum Hall staple.
Wayne Holmes is creating a Starry Night of a different kind. He has adapted his knowledge and presentation to suit school-aged children. All the same magic and all at the same location – Taghum Hall. Pre-register for this opportunity at (250) 354-1586 or email: email@example.com
Remember last year’s festival…the fabulous produce vendors, the amazing product vendors, the hilarity of the pie eating contest? Well, it’s coming back even bigger and better than before. Save the date: October 16, 2016.
Coming to us from Sweden, Ali Luthmers grew up in Nelson. She later… She met Johnny Teyssier and they started up…..
“We can’t wait ’til the hall fills up with all that creative energy,” says Cheri Mortenson-Wiebe of Taghum Hall referring to the Creative Spaces Summer Day Camp offered this summer.
For the week of July 11 to 15 from 9am to 4pm, Taghum Hall will be home to up to 20 area kids ages seven and up and four fabulous facilitators:
• Andre Van Berlo, guitar wizard/music instructor;
• Annie Delorme, face painter/mask maker;
• Gavin Holland, master stained glass artist and
• Zaynab Mohammed, the busking poet.
These talented professional artists will lead small groups through daily creative adventures themed around the four natural elements of air, water, earth and fire.
“We’ve kept the price affordable for this pilot project,” says MortensonWiebe of the $175 fee for the week’s activities, “but we aim to provide an exciting and funfilled experience for every child attending.”
Creative Spaces Day Camp is just one of the initiatives of the Taghum Hall Revitalization Project, a WorksBC grant which is determining community needs and trying to meet them with new and exciting programs. The summer day camp came about after a meeting with local parents to determine what kinds of programs they would like to see at the Hall for their children.
Parents and guardians who would like more information on this and other programs offered at the hall, can check the Taghum Hall website at www.taghumhall.ca or call during office hours (10am– 3:30pm Mondays through Thursdays). Cheri will likely be on hand to answer your call!! (778) 463-1114.
