Harvest Festival

Back for the 6th year, Taghum Hall’s Harvest Festival will provide the same harvest delights – vendors of everything from pottery to pumpkins to pickles; contests for young and old, home grown entertainment, cake walks and activities for the kids.

Weird Vegetable Contest: Did your garden produce a cuddling carrot?  A puckered pumpkin?   A stupendously silly squash?  Make the best of these weird vegetable by making them even weirder… add your own weird decorations, and bring them to Taghum Hall by 12pm on October 16 and enter them in the Taghum Hall’s Harvest Festival’s Weird Vegetable Contest.   Judging by a panel of vegetable experts will take place at 1pm. (If you prefer to be creative on the spot, vegetables will be available in the Kids’ Area to decorate in the weirdest ways you can imagine).

Baked Apple Pie Contest: Dig out your family secret apple pie recipe and create two of the finest pies you can imagine!  (or go online if your family has no secrets!) Present 2 beautifully decorated, delicious smelling  and even better tasting pies to Taghum Hall by 12pm on October 16 for entry into Taghum Hall’s Harvest Festival Baked Apple Pie Contest.  One pie will be used for judging by a panel of apple experts; one will be donated to the bake table.
